Vessel

The vessel contains all of the other components for the vessel file. It appears in the Vessels Window under its file name.

The vessel has the following properties in the Properties Window:

Name: The file name of the vessel file.

Location: The location of the vessel file on the file system.

Modified: The date and time when the vessel file was last modified.

HIPS SVC Enabled: Defines whether the Georeference Bathymetry process in HIPS and SIPS should perform sound velocity correction (SVC) on data collected with this vessel:

False: Georeference Bathymetry will never perform SVC on data collected with this vessel.

True: Georeference Bathymetry must be used to perform SVC on data collected with this vessel, otherwise the proper offsets will not be applied.

Version: The version of the vessel file format.

Vessel Shape: The dimensions of the vessel itself. The dimensions can be edited here or in the Vessel Shape wizard (see Create Vessel Shape Outline).

Width: Width measured from port to starboard.

Length: Length from the stern to the base of the bow.

Bow Length: Length from the stern to the tip of the bow.

Depth: Height of the hull from the keel to the deck.

Reference Point: The location of the reference point (RP) on the vessel. The location can be edited here or in the Vessel Shape wizard (see Create Vessel Shape Outline).

Starboard: Distance from the starboard side of the hull to the RP.

Stern: Distance from the stern to the RP.

Bottom: Distance from the keel to the RP.
