Each database uses its own set of catalogue files to control the acronyms, attributes and relationships of features that are available in the database. When a database is created, the initial catalogue assigned to the database is determined by the Pool and Profile properties. If these properties are not defined, the "BathyObjectPool" and "BathyObjectProfile" environment variables are used by default. These variables point to the BathyServerPool and BathyServerProfile files, which are the default catalogue files provided with BDB Server.
A system administrator can use the tools in the Administration Tools to access, maintain and customize the catalogue files assigned to a database.
