Digitize Features in Feature Palette

Procedure: New feature

1. Select a feature icon.

2. Select the Digitize New Feature tool.

3. Click within the Display window.

The feature represented by the icon in the palette is digitized at the location at which you clicked.

Procedure: Existing feature

Use Geometry of Selection

An alternate method of digitizing features is to use the position of a feature in a layer to digitize a new feature.

1. Select a feature in a layer

2. Select a feature icon in the palette

3. Right-click and select Use Geometry of Selection from the pop-up menu.

The feature represented by the icon in the palette is digitized at the location of the feature that was selected in the layer.
