Test database features and external S-57/HOB files for data structure and logical consistency.
Many tests are based on the Recommended ENC Validation Checks (S-58 Ed. 7.0) standard from the International Hydrographic Organization. Remaining tests have been developed by Teledyne CARIS.
There are two types of validation tests:
• QC Tests: These tests are built into the editor and cannot be modified.
• Customized QC Tests: These tests can be modified or new ones added. Tests are in XML files in C:\Program Files\CARIS\HPD\<version>\system\qc.

You can run the QC Tests or customized QC Tests, but you cannot select and run both at the same time.
Validation checks are restricted to the workspace or project boundary. Features completely outside the boundary are excluded.
There are several reports that can assist in the validation process.
