Bathymetry Sensor

Transmitter, Receiver, and XYZ

The bathymetry sensor component represents the system that makes the bathymetry measurements, such as a multibeam sonar, single-beam sonar, or laser scanner. The system’s transducers, transmitters, and receivers are shown as separate subcomponents.

The bathymetry sensor component appears in the Vessels Window under its system name. When you create a vessel, it is assigned a default name such as “Teledyne - RESON SeaBat series (Teledyne s7k)”, but you can change it in the Properties Window.

The bathymetry sensor component has the following properties in the Properties Window:

System Name: The name of this particular system. The bathymetry sensor component in the tree appear under this name.

Manufacturer: The maker of the bathymetry sensor.

Model Name: The name of the model of the bathymetry sensor. Unlike the Model value in the Attributes window, this value does not affect the TPU calculation, so you can set it to any name you want.

Data Format: The data format output by the bathymetry sensor.

The bathymetry sensor component has the following attributes in each row of the Attributes Window:

Date: The year and Julian day of the current swath time stamp (see Component Time Stamps).

Time: The hour and minute of the current swath time stamp (see Component Time Stamps).

Time Correction: The Time Correction value.

Model: The model of bathymetry sensor for use in the calculation of total propagated uncertainty (TPU). If your bathymetry sensor is not included in the list here, select Unknown.
