The first steps in the workflow are to create a vessel file and a new HIPS file. The vessel file contains vessel information on sensor locations and uncertainties. The *.HIPS file contains the HIPS data source and defaults for all not optional settings.
These files can be created either by using the wizard in the HIPS and SIPS Vessel Editor (Open Vessel Editor) and the New HIPS File command in the main interface,
or,
by using the Import > Sensor Data command which will automatically create those files (see Import > Sensor Data).
