Export Layout

Export the current interface settings to a user interface layout file (.ui). This includes the windows and toolbars that are currently included in the interface and their sizes and positions.

This command is similar to the New Layout command, except that this command does not add the new layout to the list of layouts displayed in the Layouts sub-menu or in the Layouts dialog box.

The resulting layout file can be shared with other users or computers and applied to the interface to quickly adjust the interface settings.

This is useful when specific windows and tools are required for certains tasks or modules. When performing one of these tasks, a user simply loads the layout file on their machine, using the Load Layout command, and the tools and windows relevant to their task are added to the interface.

Procedure

1. Adjust the layout of the interface as needed.

2. Select the Export Layout command.

The Export Layout dialog box is displayed.

3. Define a name and location for the layout file.

4. Click Save.

A layout file is saved in the specified location.
