Contouring

Contours are created using the elevation values of a dataset. You can create contours from:

• Raster surfaces stored locally (that is, on the machine you are currently using)

• Database surfaces that have been opened using Open Selected Surfaces from Database.

• A TIN generated from a raster surface, a point cloud, or a set of point features.

In order for the contouring command to be enabled, you must have a feature layer open.

Procedure

1. Create or open a feature layer.

2. From the Layers window, select the layer for which you want to create contours.

3. Select the Contouring command.

The Contour Wizard is launched. Refer to the linked topics for information on the wizard.
