To begin working in an HPD database, you must create an HPD project. HPD projects can be created in Project Editor and Source Editor.
Two or more projects can be related to each other.
Any data identified as a potential source for use with features in your database can be catalogued as a source in Project Editor.
A source can be any piece of information that can affect the features in your database. Source data can include existing vector charts, raster charts, aerial photos, and so on. More than one source can be associated with a project.
Optionally, once both a project has been created and one or more sources have been catalogued on the database, sources can be related to projects.
What is a project?
Projects are used to provide a basic means of workflow management in an HPD database and are used to track tasks performed on the data.
Most day-to-day users need to know only which project they must select to perform their particular work task. Ideally, their project manager informs them. Different projects will be used for different tasks.
