The Navigation component of a vessel file refers to the location on the vessel to which the stored navigation data was referenced. If no offsets were applied by the positioning system or acquisition system, then the position will be the raw navigation antenna location. If offsets were applied, then the position could be elsewhere, such as the MRU, reference point (RP), or transducer. In either case, the offsets entered into the vessel file need to reference this location to the RP.
To load a new navigation source, use the Add Navigation Sources command (see Configure Components, step 9.

Navigation can loaded from multiple sources for each line, and each of these sources can have their own configuration in Vessel Editor. If a configuration is not specified for a specific source type, the default Navigation sensor configuration is used.
The Navigation component has the following attributes in the Attributes window:
• X, Y, and Z: The distance from the reference point to the navigation source.
• X: The athwart-ship distance of the source, positive to starboard.
• Y: The along-ship distance of the source, positive towards the bow.
• Z: The vertical distance of the source, positive into the water.
• Manufacturer: The maker of the navigation equipment.
• Model: The particular make of navigation equipment.
• Serial Number: The serial number of the navigation equipment.
• Comments: A text field for your use.
