CARIS HIPS and SIPS Help : Vessel Editor : Vessel Editor : Basic Operations

Basic Operations

You can perform the following basic operations in Vessel Editor.

Open a vessel file

To open a vessel file in Vessel Editor:

1. Select the Open command from the file menu.

The Open File dialog box is displayed.

2. Select the file from the list and click OK.

The file opens in Vessel Editor with the vessel’s outline displayed in the editor and a list of active components displayed in the Vessels window.

Previous versions of HIPS and SIPS used the HVF (HIPS Vessel File) format instead of the VESSEL format. Vessel Editor can open HVF files, but it must convert them to the VESSEL format before it can display them. The process for converting these files is described in Upgrade HVF Vessel Files.
