Masking hides feature segments or entire features to improve chart readability. For example, a line segment can overlap a sounding so that the sounding is obscured. Masking hides that part of the line that intersects the sounding. See below.

Masked features are still part of the panel, even if not visible, and can still be selected or unmasked.
Display priority can affect masking. Make sure that the feature that is to appear on top has a higher display priority than the feature segments being masked. |
