Mapping files convert features and attributes from one data format to another.
Mapping files can also be used to assign attribute values and to provide definitions for datums that are unknown to CARIS software. For more information on mapping datums, see Datum Mapping.
Mapping is used with the following commands in HPD:
• Import Selected Objects
• Change All
• Export to HOB
• Export to GML.
The following ready-made mapping files for mapping formats are located in ...\Modules\Support\*\Rules.
