The Limits and Boundaries Module™ (LBM) tools in CARIS1 BASE Editor™ let you generate maritime limits of various widths. Limit lines are created from a baseline, which is an approximate model of the coastline. The tools provided in this module include:
• Bay Closing Report: Generate a report on the legality of a bay closing line.
• Densification: Add vertices to edges at a given distance without altering the shape of the edge.
• Envelope of Arcs: Generate a limit line at a specified geodetic distance from a baseline.
• Interactive Baseline: Create a baseline interactively from a coastline.
• Median Line: Generate a boundary between opposing or adjacent States.
• Wagon Wheel Filter: Create a baseline automatically from a coastline.
• Bisector Line: Create a bisecting line in the area between opposing or adjacent States.
