Copy to Scratch Layer

Menu

Edit > Copy > To Scratch Layer

Copy selected features to a scratch layer, where they can be edited. If no scratch layer exists, one is created. This allows features to be edited without altering the original data.

A scratch layer is temporary and cannot be saved. You can import features from the scratch layer into a data source using Import Selected Objects.
