File > Save > Save As

The Save As command allows you to save a copy of an open file using a different format, a different file name and/or a different location. It can also be used to save temporary datasets for future use. The available output formats differ based on the dataset being saved.

Various raster formats, such as BAG, can be saved to CSAR format using this command. This is useful because the CSAR format can be viewed at an overview level rather than full resolution, and it can be downsampled, both of which mean faster drawing speeds.

CSAR surfaces can be saved as a copy of the file in CSAR format. This allows tests or processes to be run on the dataset without making any changes to the original data. The resulting file will be defragmented during creation, reordering the blocks in the csar0 file to remove any unnecessary space. This will often result in the output file having a smaller file size and faster processing times.

Reference models can be saved as a new reference model with a different file name or in a different location, but only if an EAM license is enabled.
