A temporary delete feature is used to indicate that the related features are temporarily removed between the indicated start and end dates. Temporary delete features have no geometry and behave like a collection object.
Example 1
A buoy is being temporarily removed between March 10 and March 17 2019 for repairs. The buoy would be related to a temporary delete feature with startDate=20190310 and endDate=20190317.
Create
1. Select the feature or features that. are being temporarily removed.
2. Select the Create Collection command.
3. Select the collection acronym tmpdel from the list and click OK.
4. In the Attributes window, set the start date and end date.
5. Save the product then export it.
The features in the tmpdel collection will not be visible between the start and end dates you set.
Export
When the product is exported all current temporary changes will be applied to the related features. The original features in the product will not be changed. Only the exported file will contain the applied changes.
If the current date falls between the start and end date of the temporary feature, the change will be applied.
A summary of temporary additions, deletions and changes will be displayed the Output window:
