The GeneralS57SoundingTests.xml file is a custom QC test used by the Validation command, which is used to validate the geometry of feature objects in a vector data source. This specific test checks for soundings within depth area (DEPARE) and dredge area (DRGARE) features. To use this file, the Customized QC Tests option in Tools > Options must point to the folder containing the test. By default, this is:
C:\Program Files\CARIS\BASE Editor\<version>\modules\BASE Editor\Support\Validation
This file can also be used as a template to create additional customized tests. All files placed in the Validation folder will be displayed in the Customized QC Tests table of the Validation Checks dialog box, launched from the Validation command.
