Add New Layer by Rule File

Add a new display layer using filtering rules. Each rule can contain a number of conditions, similar to using a combination of different filtering tools. Rule files are created using the Rule Wizard and have the extension .crfx.

You can further filter the new layer using any of these related commands:

• Rule Wizard

• Show/Edit Filter

• Create Selection

• Add New Layer By Attribute Value

• Add New Layer by Feature Acronym

• Add New Layer by Feature Object ID

• Add New Layer by Feature Type

• Add New Layer by Unique Feature Acronyms

• Select by Rule File

Procedure

1. Select a layer.

2. Select the Add New Layer by Rule File command.

A file open dialog box is displayed.

3. Select the rule file and click Open.

A layer containing the features that meet the criteria is added.
