Input and output XML files are created temporarily in-memory and are not normally available. However, these files can be written and viewed as a means to troubleshoot XSLT instructions.
The XML files are updated when the following actions are executed:
• Opening data
• Updating features
• Refreshing portrayals.
1. In the Windows Control Panel, select the System window.
2. In the System window, select Advanced System Settings.
The System Properties dialog box is displayed.
3. Click Environment Variables.
4. Select Path in the User variables for <user> list.
5. Click New.
The New System Variable dialog box is displayed.
6. Add the following variable with a file path to the input and output files: uslXdebug_symbolization.
7. Click OK in all dialog boxes.
8. Open a chart in Paper Chart Editor or refresh a chart.
Two files are automatically generated in the folder that is associated with uslXdebug_symbolization:
• input_to_XSLT.xml: This file includes features as defined by the dynamicFeatures.xml file.
• output_from_XSLT.xml: This file contains drawing instructions for each feature that is processed.
