Relations

Catalogues contain objects, attributes and relations that define the content and structure of a publication. No publication can be created without being associated to a catalogue.

This section provides an overview of catalogues. It explains the components of the catalogue and a workflow for setting one up.

Persons responsible for creating and modifying a catalogue require a Publications Catalogue Edit role. See User Roles.

A new catalogue can be created from a basic catalogue with base objects and attributes or by loading a ready-made sample catalogue in XML format (publication_catalogue.xml).

The publication_catalogue.xml catalogue is available in ..\HPD\<version>\system\PubConfig\SampleCatalogue.

All examples in this section are taken from publication_catalogue.xml. You should create a new catalogue with this file before reading this section to get a better idea of how catalogues work.

The following graphic shows two catalogues in the Object Browser: one with the XML catalogue loaded and one with only base objects and attributes loaded.
