Compute Contact Positions

Update the geographic positions of contacts after towfish navigation has been recomputed for a line or group of lines.

1. Select the ship or towfish track lines layer in the Layers window.

2. Select one or more track lines.

3. Select the Compute Contact Positions command.

Position information for contacts along the selected track lines is automatically updated to match the new towfish navigation.

The start time, end time and elapsed time for the recompute process is reported in the Output window. Any error in the processing will be reported there also.

View contacts while scrolling

If you want your contacts to remain visible in the waterfall display while scrolling along a track line or using the Playback functions.

1. Select Options from the Tools menu to open the Options dialog box.

2. Select Side Scan under the Editors listing.

3. In the Playback options, set the Display Contacts option to True by clicking the check box.

4. Alternatively, type Display Contacts in the Filter field at the top of the Options dialog box to search for the field.

5. Click Apply.
