Invert Subselection

Menu

Select > Invert Subselection

Reverse which features are included in a subselection (highlighted) in the Selection window. The features that currently are not in the subselection will become highlighted and features that were included in the subselection will no longer be highlighted. This is useful when running a command that processes all items in the subselection, such as Edit > Delete or Select > Remove.

Procedure

1. Perform a selection using any of the selection commands.

2. Create a subselection in the Selection window either by:

pressing and holding the <Ctrl> key and clicking each desired feature, or

selecting a range of features by clicking the first feature in the range, pressing and holding the <Shift> key and then clicking the last feature in the range.

3. Click a highlighted feature in the Selection window.

4. Select the Invert Subselection commmand.

The subselection switches to include only the features that were not previously included in the subselection.
