Menu

File > Import >Auxiliary Data > Multiple Detections

Tool

The Import Auxiliary Data - Multiple Detections command will import additional bottom detections per beam for use in HIPS processes. Kongsberg Extra Detections and Teledyne RESON Multi-Detect data records will be saved as Additional Bathymetry.

Interface

This data is imported using the Import Multiple Detections to HIPS dialog box.

By default, all multiple detection data is imported as Additional Bathymetry.

Teledyne RESON data by default is imported as Accepted status.

For Kongsberg systems, the online visibility flags are used to determine whether that data is imported with Accepted or Rejected status.

Procedure

1. Select line(s) to import. Unless specific track lines are selected, data from all track lines will be imported.

2. In the Reject Type field, click the check box or boxes for the specific type of detections to be flagged as Rejected.

Types 1 to 5 apply to Teledyne RESON data, types 1 to 8 apply to Kongsberg.

If any of these Types are rejected for Kongsberg import, the online visibility flags are ignored.

3. Click OK.

For a visual representation of the various detection types imported:

1. Open the data in Subset Editor

2. Select the HIPS Data layer in the Subset Control window,

3. Select Detection Type from the Attribute field list.

4. [Optional] Select a colour other than the default colour to represent a specific type. See HIPS Data Layer in the Subset Controls.
