The Interactive Edit command is used to enable or disable the ability to edit the geometry of feature objects in the 2D View when Edit Mode is enabled. When this command is enabled, both the attributes and the geometry of a selected feature can be edited; when disabled, the attributes of a feature can be edited, but the shape and location of the feature cannot be changed in the 2D View. Disabling this command helps to avoid accidental changes in the geometry of a feature. Other methods can still be used to alter a feature’s geometry when Interactive Edit is disabled, such as manually typing coordinates in the Coordinates window.
