Profile layers cannot be saved like other feature layers. When you close the dataset for which a profile graph was created, both the dataset and the Profiles layer will be closed. If you wish to save the profile information, you can either:
• digitize the profile lines on a feature layer and save the layer to a HOB file, or
• export the profile as an image, or
• export the 3D data as points in an ASCII file or as lines in a DXF file.
