Add Bounding Polygon Layer

Pop-up

coverage > Add Layer > Bounding Polygon (Layers window)

Raster surfaces, point clouds and variable resolution (VR) surfaces created or updated in CSAR format automatically include a bounding polygon that encompasses the entire extents of the coverage. This polygon is not included in the display by default. If you want to view or edit the polygon, you must first add it to the display using this command.

When added, the bounding polygon displays as a child layer of the coverage. This layer is named according to the name of the source coverage and appended with the suffix “Bounding Polygon”.

Depending on the modules enabled, this layer can be used to edit the bounding polygon if needed, or add and remove additional bounding polygons. Refer to the documentation specific to your modules for further information on working with the bounding polygon.

Procedure

1. In Source mode in the Layers window, select a supported CSAR coverage.

2. Select the Add Bounding Polygon Layer command.

A new layer is added to the Layers window and the bounding polygon for the selected coverage is added to the display.
