Add Inner Rings to Areas

Edit > Areas > Add Inner Rings

Tool

Make holes in a superselected area using another, smaller area object in the selection.

An inner ring is an area that is completely inside a larger area. The edges of the inner ring do not touch the boundary of the outer area.

Procedure

1. Select the small inner area that will be used to create the hole.

2. Superselect the larger area that surrounds the first area.

3. Select the Add Inner Rings command.

The selected feature is added as an inner ring to the superselected feature.
