Points

A point is any node in the model where direction or elevation changes, including points used in alignments and surfaces. The coordinates of the points can be "real-world" coordinates based on a projection or they can be relative to an alignment (i.e., using chains and offsets). The points that define the alignment itself must be "real-world" coordinates and they cannot be based on another alignment.

The following figure shows a sample point feature with the tooltip displaying information about it (“Point 0005” is the name or ID for this point feature in the reference model).

See New Point Features for information on creating points.
