New Point From Self-Intersections

Create > New Model Feature > Point > From Self-Intersections

This tool is used to detect self‑crossing points in a polygon (surface or line) of the reference model and add the points to the model.

Procedure

1. In the Layers window, select the Points or Lines layer.

2. Choose a selection tool.

3. In the Display window, select one or more features from the layer.

4. In the Selection window, superselect a feature.

5. Select the (New Feature, Point) From Self-Intersections command.

The detected self-crossing points are added to the model. A message is displayed in the Output window stating the number of points added.

Points can be modified using the Model Feature window if desired. See Modify a Point for more information.
