Set as Active Model (Layers window)

The Set as Active Model command is used to define which reference model is active in the application if more than one model is open. This is necessary to control which model is displayed in the Model window. It also defines which model is affected by commands that are applied to a reference model.

By default, if only one model is open, that is the active model. If more than one model is open, by default the first model in the Layers window is the active model, generally the first model opened. If you are unsure which model is active, you can check the Model window; only the active model is shown there. If you wish to make a different model active, you must use this command.

Procedure

1. Select the desired model in the Layers window.

2. Select the Set as Active Model command.

The selected model is now active and the Model window is now populated with the selected reference model.

If you superselect a reference model feature in the active model, it automatically becomes the active model feature and is populated in the Model Features window. If a different reference model feature is superselected, it then becomes the active model feature. If an S-57 object is superselected, the active reference model feature will remain active even though it is no longer superselected. The reference model feature will remain active until another reference model feature is superselected.
