NetCDF (network Common Data Form) is a general-purpose file format that supports the creation, access, and sharing of four-dimensional data. BASE Editor supports netCDF data standardized on the COARDS profile.
Although netCDF is a supported surface format, it is not compatible with the following commands:
• File > Export > Surface to HTF
• Database > Add Surface
• Tools > Coverages > Combine
• Tools > Coverages > Extract
• Tools > Coverages > Join Points
• Tools > Coverages > Vertical Shift
When a netCDF file is opened in BASE Editor, it is displayed in the Layers window as a group layer with multiple data sources present in the group. The data is displayed as a point cloud with attributes.
Each of the source layers contains data from multiple bands. These bands can be viewed in the Project window and added ot the Layers window using the Add Layer command.
