Menu | Tools > Bounding Polygon > Edit Selected Bounding Polygon |
Raster surfaces, point clouds and variable resolution (VR) surfaces created or updated in CSAR format automatically include a bounding polygon that encompasses the entire extents of a coverage. This polygon is not included in the display by default. If you want to view or edit the polygon, you must first add it to the display using the Add Bounding Polygon Layer command. See Add Bounding Polygon Layer for more information.
A bounding polygon can be edited to better represent the legitimate data in the coverage, if needed. Editing a polygon involves manually moving, adding and/or deleting vertices in the polygon, editing the edge of the polygon as a whole, or changing the detail level property.
Any changes to the bounding polygon will cause the Edited property in the Properties window to change to “Yes”. This informs users that the polygon has been changed from the original.
To make edits to a bounding polygon:
• the layer must be added to the Layers window and turned on to be visible in the Display window
• the layer must be selected in the Layers window
• the polygon feature must be selected
• the polygon must be in edit mode, see Procedure: Enable Edit Mode for details
A bounding polygon can be edited as a whole, or by altering individual vertices. Each of the procedures are described in the linked topics.
