S-57 Exchange Set Editor

An ENC exchange set is a platform-independent set of files suitable for use in electronic chart navigation systems.

An exchange set is composed of one catalogue file and at least one dataset file, which is an S-57 file with the extension .000. The catalogue file acts as a table of contents for the exchange set. Text (ASCII) and images (TIF) may be included in the exchange set if they are referenced by features in the S-57 file.

Exchange Set Editor lets you create exchange sets or edit existing sets.

Procedure

A product does not need to be open.

1. Select the S-57 Exchange Set Editor command.

The S-57 Exchange Set Editor is displayed.

Click Create New to create a new exchange set. See Create an Exchange Set.

Click Select to open an existing exchange set for editing. See Edit an Exchange Set.
