The Plan View is an overhead view of the swath profiles and beams in Swath Editor. All profiles are spaced equally in the along-track direction. Across-track beam spacing is to correct scale. Each beam is represented by a square.

The number of swath profiles displayed in the Plan View is determined by three factors:

height of the view

point size of the beams

distance (in points) between swath profiles (see “Data Display in Views” on page 848)

Soundings can be differentiated by applying options from the General page of the Swath Editor tab in the Control window to:

colour by depth interval (see “Colour By Depth” on page 852)

sun illumination (see “Light Control” on page 858).

Use the Display options in the Tools > Options dialog box to:

colour soundings by their location in the swath (port or starboard beams) or

colour soundings by the detection method used by the sonar (not supported by all sonars)

Procedure

1. Select the Plan View command.
