Command-line utilities in HIPS and SIPS are run at the command prompt. Current utilities are Dump and Printf functions and Other utilities.

When running utilities (dump and printf functions) directly from the command line, use the full path to the utility to ensure it is pointing to the installed location, in quotes, as in this example:

“C:\Program Files\CARIS\HIPS\ver\Bin\dumpxtf”.

Procedure:

To run one of these utilities in Windows 8.x or 10.x:

1. Type HIPS at the Start menu.

2. Select HIPS 10 Command Prompt from the displayed list.

This opens the HIPS 10 Command Prompt window so that the specific command can be run.

To run in 32-bit:

1. Click Start and select the Run command.

2. In the Run dialog box, type cmd.

3. Click OK

4. This opens the Windows system 32 cmd window to run a utility command.
