Modify a Surface

Although surfaces are created using points specifically selected by the user, it is possible to change these points after the surface is complete. You can add, remove, replace or sort points that make up the surface.

Add/Remove/Replace Points

To add, remove or replace the points in a surface, perform the following steps:

1. Select the surface you want to modify in the Model window, or superselect the surface in the Display window.

The selected surface is now the active reference model feature.

2. Select the Spatial tab in the Model Feature window.

3. Do one of the following:

Click Add, and select a point to add to the surface.

Select a point, and click Remove to remove that point from the surface.

Select a point to replace, click Replace, then select a point to replace it with.

Sort Points

To sort the points in a surface:

1. Select the desired surface in the Model window.

2. Check the Enable Sort option in the Spatial tab of the Model Feature window.

The buttons on the right change to Apply, Move Up, and Move Down.

3. Select the point you want to move.

4. Click either Move Up or Move Down until the point is in the desired position in the list.

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for other points you want to move.

The points must be in clockwise order.

6. Click Apply.

The Display window refreshes to reflect your changes.
