BASE Manager : Commands : Add Survey-Surface Relationships

Add Survey-Surface Relationships

The Add Survey-Surface Relationship command creates master/slave relationships between selected survey and surfac objects in a database.

A relationship cannot be created for a surface that is already a slave of another master survey. If you attempt to do this, a message will be displayed in the Output window stating that the relationship could not be created.

To enable this command, you must have at least one survey and one surfac object selected. Multiple surfac objects can be related to a single survey, but the function will not complete if more than one survey is selected.

To add a survey-surface relationship:

1. Connect to a database.

2. Select the relevant database query layer in the Layers window.

The query must include both surveys and surfaces in order to make the selection. If this is not the case, you may need to edit the query. See New Query for more information.

3. Select a survey and the surfaces that you want to relate.

4. Select the Add Survey-Surface Relationship command.

Database > Add Survey-Surface Relationship

All selected surfac objects that are not already slaves will be added to the survey object as slaves. Messages will be displayed in the Output window indicating which surfac objects were and were not added. If you select the related survey then view the Relations window, it will list the surfaces that were added to the survey as slaves. If you select one of the surfaces, it will list the survey as a master.
