Export the metadata from a coverage (CSAR files, BAG files, etc.) to an XML file.
The metadata exported from a CSAR dataset will be ISO 19115/19139 compliant and the resulting metadata file can be used in non-Teledyne CARIS systems to provide information about the data.
Resolution map layers in variable resolution surfaces do not contain metadata that is included in the ISO specifications, therefore these layers will not output any metadata. |
A default file name will be generated for the resulting metadata file, using the name of the source coverage, in the format of: <coveragename>_metadata.xml
Procedure
1. Select the parent layer of the coverage to export.
2. Select the Export Surface Metadata command.
3. Specify a name and location for the resulting file.
4. Click Save.
The metadata for the selected surface is exported to the XML file in the selected location.
