Tool

Select features within a lasso, which is a user-defined irregular area. You define a lasso by clicking in the Display window then closing it when it is the correct shape. All features that are completely or partially contained by the lasso are selected.

Procedure

1. Select the Select by Lasso command.

The cursor changes (  ).

2. Click multiple times in the Display window to define the shape of the lasso.

The lasso is drawn as you click. The dotted segment indicates the closing line segment.

3. Press <End>.

All features that intersect with or are enclosed by the lasso are selected.
