Once the ENC has correct chain-node topology, check features and attributes, then spatial geometry, then other aspects of S-58 using the grouped S-58 Edition 7.0 QC Tests, All these tests should be run on all data in the main product data layer.
S-58 features and attributes
Check S-58 features and attributes:
1. Run the S-58 Features and Attributes QC Test.
This test automatically runs the following set of QC Tests:
• Duplicate Objects using the Duplicate Geometry, Feature Acronym and Feature Attributes Only option. This is for all features except soundings.
• Duplicate Objects using the Duplicate Geometry Only option.This tests the geometry of soundings.
• Prohibited Objects using no options
• Prohibited Primitives
• Invalid Attributes using the Allow Unicode characters in National Attributes option.
• Mandatory Attributes
2. Review the validation report.
If any issues are reported, correct them, then repeat this test until no issues remain.
S-58 geometry
Check S-58 geometry:
1. Run the S-58 Geometry QC Test.
This test automatically runs the following set of QC Tests:
• Prohibited Objects using the Check for edges with coordinates that are too close option.
• Invalid Geometry using no options.
• Overlapping Edges
• Redundant Edges, Points and Soundings using no options.
• Intersecting Edges using no options.
• Edges with Redundant Vertices
• Edges to Merge
• Lines To Merge
• Points Inside Areas using no options.
• Lines Bordering Areas using the Ignore Administrative attributes (RECDAT, RECIND, SORDAT and SORIND) and SCAMIN when comparing objects option.
2. Review the validation report.
If any issues are reported, correct them, then repeat this test until no issues remain.
Other S-58 aspects
Check other S-58 aspects:
1. Run all other S-58 related QC Tests
These are all tests that start with ‘S-58’ except S-58 Critical Error, Errors or Warnings.
2. Run these QC Tests individually or together:
• S-58 Soundings
• S-58 Collection Features
• S-58 Parent Child Relationships
• S-58 Orient, Usage, Mask Flags
• S-58 Depth Areas and Depth Contours
• S-58 Data Coverage
• S-58 Meta Object Coverage
• S-58 Group 1 Area Coverage
None of these tests have Options settings:

If you made any corrections to the dataset, repeat all tests in steps 1 and 2 to ensure that no issues remain.
