The scale minimum value of a feature is the minimum scale at which the feature is displayed in HPD or on an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). The purpose of the scale minimum value is to reduce clutter on the display.

Source Editor and Product Editor will obey the scale minimum values if you enable the Scale minimum option in the Options dialog box.
Scale minimum values are calculated and applied to features using the Assign Scale Minimum Values command. This can calculate scale minimum values for sounding and non-sounding features.
Scale minimum values are not applied to Group 1 features. |
Scale minimum values can be applied using two methods:
• A scale factor formula.
• A step method based on the S-57 Use of the Object Catalogue (UOC) standard.
