User Roles

User roles must be assigned to persons working with Publications Module. These roles are described in this table:

Create new catalogues

Edit existing catalogues (Publication Document Editor or Publication Record Editor also required)

Publish publications

Create new editions of publications

Publication Document Editor

Create new catalogues

Edit existing catalogues

Create new publications

Edit publication properties, except publish flag

Add/remove sections and folders

Edit section or folder properties

Add/remove records of a section

Change certification status of folders and publication sections (if assigned an appropriate Quality Assurance role)

Publication Record Editor

Create new catalogues

Edit existing catalogues

Create and modify notices or list product records

Change certification status of a record (if assigned an appropriate Quality Assurance role)

Publication Browser

View publications

Quality Assurance

Verification/Audit of publications

Quality Assurance Accept

Change certification status from "Not Verified to "Accepted"

Change certification status from "Not Verified to "Rejected."

Quality Assurance (Self Check)

Verification of publications by those with an editor role who want to verify their own work.

The Publication Manager, Publication Document Editor, Publication Record Editor and Publication Browser roles are exclusive to Publications Module. The three quality assurance roles are applicable to all of HPD.

Roles can be combined. For example, a person who creates and modifies notices, creates publications and also verifies work would need the following roles:

A person who can create notices and verify those same notices would need the following roles:

Quality Assurance (Self Check)

To create or edit a catalogue, the Publication Catalogue Editor role and either Publication Document Editor or Publication Record Editor roles are required.
